April Update

Hello friends and family, hope your Spring is going well. We had a wonderful Easter yesterday, and although it was too wet outdoors, Chad and Audrey had a lot of fun hunting for the Easter Bunny's hidden eggs inside. 1 day and counting, and still no tummy aches from all those jelly beans.






This last Saturday, Chad and I visited the newly opened Tillamook Forest Center. To all of you located in the Portland area, I highly recommend a visit! It is very well done, and tons of hands-on exhibits for kids. There is also a fire lookout and a neat suspension bridge over the Wilson River. It's a really cool place!

Yesterday, between rainshowers, we were able to get out and enjoy a wonderful bike ride. We parked at Kelly Point Park and rode south about a mile and a half to Smith Lake. The paved path parallels the Columbia Slough - lots of birds and geese around. At Smith Lake, where the path currently ends, Chad and Audrey explored around, and Foster fetched sticks out of the water. There were two juvenile bald eagles sitting in the branches just above us. After Audrey fell into the water, it was time to get her into warm clothes and head back!
